Welcome to Patriots Tribune!  We need you!  America needs you and our future generations need you.   Conservatives that believe in the Constitution of the United States of America have seen an erosion of what the Constitution stands for.  We have seen attacks on the most basic rights that the Constitution, such as gun rights, and religion.  Government is out of control.  Our founding fathers and Patriots never intended for government to have power and control in our lives and pocket books like they do today.  Government spending is completely out of control, and more and more Americans look to Washington for handouts, subsidies, welfare, medicine, retirement and even decision making.  Unfortunately all too many Americans would gladly revert to a socialist or communist government if given the option.  That is why Patriots Tribune needs Patriots like you.  If you are an American Patriot that believes in smaller government and reigning back government spending and reducing the overwhelming tax burden and taking back power from a government and radical justices, we would like to to join our organization.  We are about FREEDOM.  Over the last few years, it has felt like government has been chiseling away at our rights and liberties.  It’s time to organize a line in the sand and say we Patriots are not going to surrender our liberties and freedoms to power hungry, tax and spend politicians.  It literally makes me ill to think about being in such overwhelming debt to foreign nations.  How can the United States be the leader of the FREE world when we so eagerly relinquish our economic freedom and become a prisoner, enslaved by the debt and interest to other nations?  We can’t!  Right now is time to join our cause and say I’m personally NOT going to allow America to be grated down into oblivion by a few individuals that have not demonstrated the ability to put our country in front of politics.  Individuals that have seemingly lost the ability to say no.  Like a parent that gives their spoiled child everything they want and have lost touch with the hard decisions that come with parenting.

As I stand back, and look at Congress and observe individuals, we all recognize that they have agenda’s.  Not necessarily a bad thing, until the agenda is no longer in line with Constitutional principles.  The United states has gotten where it is today over decades.  It didn’t happen overnight, and it is safe to say that our generations have let it happen.

Today is the day to change direction.  Today is the day that we say no more.  Right now is when we say it’s no longer about me, but it’s about what is best for America because America is the last place on Earth that has the power to defend freedom for itself and the rest of the world.  Without America, would be regimes and dictators will gradually impose their beliefs and their governments and their social programs on their citizens, and gradually and eventually we would wake up one day to find that we no longer have the freedom and liberty to choose for ourselves, but would have surrendered that gradually to a nameless, faceless, all-knowing, all-powerful government bureaucracy.

Anyone see the irony in putting mass killing equipment in the hands of a potential enemy and then making such a big deal of Americans owning “Assault Weapons”?

I am telling you my personal habits, not to try and put myself above others, or to blow my own horn or to come across as judgmental, but because I want to give you some context for how I feel about illegal drugs, and even more importantly why I simply think we should quit the war on drugs all together. Wha.. What?

Yes, you read it right. I personally believe the so called “War on drugs” is a sham, a waste, a total and complete boondoggle!  I think it should be discontinued all together.

Here are my reasons:

1. DEA, better known as the Drug Enforcement Administration has been in existence since 1973 and spent approximately $2.4 billion dollars in 2010. 
2. Police agencies all around America and hard working law enforcement men and women of all types fight the war on drugs on our city streets and highways every day and are engaged in a dangerous game of cat and mouse with ruthless, violent, crazed and “drugged out” users and distributors.  Not only has this taken an economic toll, but a toll on our law enforcement community and even more importantly a toll on individual families of those individuals that have been injured, killed or traumatized by the illegal drug battle.  I do not believe “illegal drug use”, or the war against illegal drugs is worth the cost of a single innocent life.  I think all law enforcement should discontinue the war on drugs today.
3. How many billions of dollars are spent to jail and imprison drug trafficers?  How many millions of men and women are not producing and parenting and working because they are behind bars?  How many billions of dollars were spent in our court systems, not only to charge individuals for trafficing drugs but to appoint legal defenders to represent them as well?  I say to let all non-violent drug distributors out of jail today.  Let them go home and be providers, parents, employees, employers, family members, sons and daughters.
4. Because drugs are illegal, they are over-priced and under-taxed.  It’s no secret that billions and billions of dollars leave our country every year and go to large, powerful and rich drug cartels outside of the United States.  Organizations and individuals that will not hesitate torturing, raping, brutalizing and then killing innocent victims just to “send a message”.  Just as medical marijuana and prescription drugs can be easily produced, taxed and regulated in the U.S., why don’t we do the same to every other form of narcotic?  Produce it, regulate the quality and potency and then tax the living hell out of it.
5. Did we not learn anything from prohibition?  How much violence, do we see around the production, regulation, distribution and taxation of alcohol and spirits in America?    How many lives has it cost? A relatively small amount by any comparison, yet how many jobs does it produce? How much revenue does it produce in taxes?  An astronomical amount no doubt.

Yes it is about the money, but more importantly it is about the harm that illegal drugs and trafficing inflicts on innocent lives.  Take the high risk and high cost of illegal drugs out of the economy, and it will reduce or eliminate the profitability and export of money overseas and over borders to the south.  Even poor economies would not be able to produce and distribute their illegal drugs in the U.S. cheaper than it could be done domestically.  (At least I am not aware of big illegal underground aspirin markets in the U.S.)

If illicit drugs were available over the counter, I am certain that more good people would use hard drugs that may otherwise not.  As we all know, the path of illicit drug use does not lead to a happy ending.  No doubt, it would utterly destroy millions of families and millions of lives, just like cigarettes and alcohol do today.

As I see it, it boils down to individual accountability and responsibility.  I am a huge proponent of individual accountability and responsibility.  I prefer freedom to choose over force or attempted force any day of the week.  Consequences of decisions are frequently predictable, and sometimes inevitable, but that is a small cost of freedom to make ones own decisions and exercise agency to choose.  People are going to exercise their freedom of choice whether or not to use illicit drugs.  It may sound cliche, but in my opinion, if someone wants to use drugs, they are going to use drugs whether they are illegal or not.  I am not a big believer in Government regulating, policing and criminalizing individual morality.  All Americans need to understand that decisions have consequences either intended or unintended, and if they choose to take the risks associated with illicit drug use or cigarette use or alcohol consumption, then that had better be prepared to deal with the consequences of their decisions.

Seriously!  Who in the world is to blame for such idiocy?

Back to the purpose of the post. I seriously cannot understand why in the world anyone would think that this person sitting in front of a fire, sipping a drink and speaking sexual innuendo’s referring to the legalization of abortion would in any way appeal to anyone? Not to mention the grunts and noises he makes towards the end of the video.

Look, the way I see it, is that it is about personal responsibility.

People that have unprotected sex are personally irresponsible. I will even go a step further and say that contraception is a personal responsibility! It is not my responsibility as a purchaser of health insurance to cover contraception. I side with the Catholic church and their rights as a religion to exercise their right to NOT pay for contraception, which should also be the right of citizens to NOT pay for contraception or pay insurance premiums that cover either contraception or abortion!

Lastly, I just want to say SHAME ON YOU to the producer of this video. It’s seriously disgusting, and you should be ashamed for producing it.

Do you know what $16 Trillion Dollars, and change looks like…

Remember the year 2000? Seem like not very long ago. Everyone was concerned that there would be a global computer melt-down because of the way dates were written in computer code? It was really much to do about nothing. Well, back in 2000, as a tax payer, my share of the national debt was a whopping $56,104. Dang! Well, if that was not bad enough, today that number has grown to a whopping $145,691.

Well, in my opinion, that’s nuts! Sure I have benefited from national defense, but I think we have collectively been screwed by Congress and our elected officials over the last fifty years by all the wasteful spending.

I think of it like this. Congress reached in my wallet and without my permission, took out this credit card that had a crazy $100,000 limit on it, and then they went on a wild spending binge. The had parties in Hawaii, they spent a ton of money on pet projects and pork so that the folks back home would like them and re-elect them so that they could go back to Washington and spend some more money that they don’t actually have.   But when they hit $100,000, they decided it would be easier to add to my credit limit that to do what every other red blooded human being does when they are broke, and that is to quit spending.

Americans are being robbed.

Well, here we are at our new credit card debt limit of $145,691 limit. Some sane people many years ago, just like credit card companies decided we had better put a limit on how much people can charge, or the wacko’s in Washington might just think there is no limit to how much they can spend. Someone essentially drew a line in the sand and said “Thou shall not pass!”  Well, don’t look now, but if the nuts in Congress have their way, they are likely to up the limits on our collective American Taxpayer Credit Card.

Here’s the really sad part, which is the inevitable and universal effect of debt that is out of control.  There will come a day reckoning.  Sadly it will hit many that had no voice or vote in the running up of the tab, and that is todays youth. Our innocent children are going to be saddled with the effects of our collective willingness to allow this to happen at the ballot box over decades.

The day of reckoning is likely to happen when a couple of things could happen.  1. Washington continues to spend out of control, which will likely cause an incredible rate of inflation.  The people that get hurt in that situation are those individuals that have saved money for retirement, and now their purchasing power is a fraction of what they need to survive.  2. The next problem is that China, Japan and every other foreigner is going to wake up and stop buying U.S. Govt debt, or in other words, quit lending the United States Government money.  (Frankly it is probably a good idea considering Washington’s ineptness). because it’s possible, that the United States Government will come to a point in the not so distant future where they can no longer pay their credit card bills.

How long can this go on?

3. A tidal wave of current taxpayers conclude that it’s easier to go to the government for food, housing, insurance, contraception and Obama phones than it is to go to work and turn around and spend so much of your hard earned dollars to support everyone else that’s on Government gravy train.

Well, I feel better, because I have verbalized how I feel about the current state of affairs, and to summarize, my feelings, we are in a helluva mess.

I officially declare that the Emperor has no clothes!  That is to say that the collective Congress and White House have lost their collective minds and their actions are completely out of touch with reality.

I can only hope that some of our elected Congressmen and Women dig their heels in and vote Hell No on raising the debt ceiling.

These are the folks that couldn’t get the budget out by Oct. 1, and are about to control your health care, cap and trade, and the list goes on and on….

Are you frustrated by healthcare reform? I certainly am. Here’s why:

1. Extraordinarily divisive.
2. Passed by such a very small margin.
3. The cost and “special deals” to get a few to vote for the bill was extraordinary.
4. I have been unable to find where the Constitution grants healthcare to it’s citizens.
5. I have been unable to find where Constitution requires healthcare insurance.
6. Difficult to imagine that we are going to tax certain health insurance policies.
7. Will create a tremendous burden on business owners and consequential loss of jobs.
8. Will create yet another Trillion dollar government buracracy.
9. Will add to the already insurmountable national debt.
10. Can’t figure out why everyone that already has health insurance has to pay the price of those that choose not have it.
11. Another government welfare program.

• Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 74 years to get it right and it is broke.
• Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 71 years to get it right and it is broke.

Ok Duane, you know I’m a moron that doesn’t know anything, but in my humble opinion, the republican party is NOT lacking leadership because of Rush and Sean, but rather John Q Public is tired of the rich republican leadership lining each others pockets. The pharmaceutical, energy, healthcare, insurance, brokerage “Hank Poulson & Goldman Sachs” banking and lending industries (Credit Card Companies) are all feeding at the trough of the Republican party, and have been for years. Tax breaks, lack of oversight and looking the other direction while these industries run rampant over consumers is why people like me are not overjoyed with the Republican party. We all know these industries OWN the republican congress, and we know what’s going on is blatantly wrong. The talking heads like Rush and Sean point to other issues, but a large number of voters know better. What I’m trying to say is it’s not the messengers, Sean and Rush, it’s the message! Brooks is correct that the party lacks leadership, but has in my opinion missed the reason why.

Addendum: Republican party does not operate in a vacuum. They are not solely responsible for what has been going on. In addition, I’m against the way the pendulum has swung the other way. I’m against the stimulus, welfare, cash for clunkers, housing grants and every other kind of government give-away.
